Problem: China-The Grand Tour setup won't install automatically.

To install manually:

Problem: The China-The Grand Tour setup fails and says please report to Microsoft Product Support Services. Or a cryptic message is displayed and stops the install.

 To install manually:

Manual Install of China-The Grand Tour (a Microsoft Viewer Title) which will not automatically install.

1. Place the CD in the CDROM drive.
2. Go to Explore (right click Start button, click Explore)
3. Find the CDROM drive (If the China-The Grand Tour disc is in it will show Chingtoct98)
4. Double Click this to open it.
5. Find a file called Mviewer2 in the file list
6. Right click on that file and select Send To >> Desktop (as shortcut)
7. Now, close your windows and find the new icon on the desktop called Shortcut to Mviewer2.exe.
8. Right click on that, find and select Properties
9. Click on the Shortcut Tab - Find Target which will have D:\MVIEWER2.EXE in it assuming your CDROM drive is D:
10. At the end of that, add a space and then type d:\china.mvb so that the final box contains: D:MVIEWER2.EXE d:china.mvb
11. Click OK.
12. Right Click the desktop icon again, select Rename and name it China!

Thereafter, double-clicking on that icon will start the program provided the CD-ROM is in the indicated CDROM drive.

NOTE: You must have a Program Group open into which the icon will be installed. Click on the appropriate Program Group so that it is highlighted.

Go to File Manager. Copy x:\china.ico to C:\Windows, where x: is your CD-ROM Drive. Then . . .

Go to Program Manager

File/New/Program Item/OK

Description Chinatour

Command Line x:\mviewer2.exe x:\china.mvb

Working Directory x:\

Then . . .

Change Icon c:\windows\china.ico

OK OK Yes
