Now you can have the world's largest micro-computer food database at your fingertips to help you take charge of your diet and stay fit without resorting to pills, liquid diets, or stacks of books.

Food/Analyst PLUS CD-ROM contains over 23,000 common raw, processed, and prepared food selections from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Canadian Government and information gathered from U.S. food manufacturers and restaurants. Food/Analyst PLUS constantly monitors your progress by checking each food you eat for up to 100 nutrients (listed at bottom of page), including alcohol, amino acids, ash, caffeine, calories, carbohydrates, fatty acids, fiber, minerals, vitamins, water, and sugars. This data is from the USDA's, Human Nutrition Information Service entire food nutrient database, Standard Reference (Handbook 8), USDA's Survey Data (with no blanks), USDA's Home Economics Research Report 48 on Sugars, Canadian Government Nutrient File 1988 in both French and English and over 8,000 brand name food products from over 160 food manufacturers and restaurants.

It is the most complete nutritional analysis software program available:

You can analyze and store any number of meals, recipes, foods and costs for any number of people.

You can produce reports and graphs that compare the nutritional content of a food, meal, daily intake or range of days to the Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA).

Colorful pie charts show calorie break-out of protein, carbohydrates, fats, and alcohol.

Nutrients are sorted high to low by foods containing each nutrient. If you want to add more of a nutrient to your diet, or eat less of a particular nutrient, you can instantly see which foods contain the most and least of your desired nutrient.

You can add additional foods to the database from label information and then include them in your meals and recipes.

You can also cost meals/recipes from the prices you paid for each food.

Ask the Expert: there are questions/answers in over 75 nutrition categories. The questions came from hundreds of consumers interested in their health. The answers are provided by Joanne Larsen, M.S., Registered Dietitian.

The foods are very easy to select through food group search or powerful food search by food name.

Meal data may be exported to ASCII files for use with statistical analysis, spreadsheet or database packages.

Food/Analyst PLUS includes an extensive user manual and internal, context sensitive help. Very easy-to-use.

Foods are divided into the following categories: dairy and egg products; spices and herbs; baby foods; fats and oils; poultry products; soups, sauces, and gravies; sausages and luncheon meats; breakfast cereals; fruits and fruit juices; pork products; vegetables and vegetable products; nut and seed products; beef products; beverages; fin and shell fish products; legumes and legume products; lamb, veal, and game; baked products; snacks and sweets; cereal, grains, and pastas; fast foods; and mixed dishes.
